It is an evergreen tree and can measure up to 30m in height, the leaves have a light green hanging arrangement, and it is the part that gives off the aroma, a fragrance reminiscent of the smell of lemon, or citronella. Traditionally it has been used to perfume clothes closets by putting a few dried leaves in a cloth bag, and since the last century it has also been used as an insect repellent.
